I just barely finished reading "Kinship with all Life" and wanted to learn more about Strongheart, the first dog to star in a movie, and about how he was trained. I came away from the book with a deeper respect and love for all living things.
I have neighbors who keep their dog chained outside in all kinds of weather. He claims he's a hunting dog, but he doesn't train him or do anything with him. He got loose a few weeks ago and I think he's finally escaped. Our dogs are our friends and companions and we couldn't imagine doing that to them. Shame on all who put their dogs through this! Why have a dog if you're going to ignore it and tether it on the end of a chain? Makes no sense to me. There must be a special place in hell reserved for people who do this.
